👍Well written. I gave up on MSM in the mid 70s after hanging with reporters, editors, owners & other criminal types.

My Coles notes version: 🌎📰📽️📺🔊🖥️ = 🐂💩💩💩

You eloquantly described the reason for my turning off the TV years ago. Thankyou.

Aye, Antipodes. For me it was the Incendiary device in the fuel tank of a GMC pickup. How about you?

Can't say it was a specific one off.

Just a trend in this Uber Woke BS i saw in Online News, Printed Papers, and TV news.

All the same guff, all the same slogans, all the same ignoring of real world problems while promoting the latest bad thing as "The End of the World is Nigh".

I recognised the stress and ill feelings it generated.

I turned off the TV, unfollowed Online News, stopped reading the West Australian.

And being blissfully ignorant was the greatest freedom I found.

Not being told who to like and dislike on a daily basis is truly liberating.

And you what? The world continues to operate, without my interactions with the MSM.

the covid era offered them a perfect way to maintain control through ''''fear'''' (of a disease with a 1.5% death rate...............oh please!) BUT the vaccines they essentially forced on the public have boomeranged into excess deaths and disabilities which will pyramid for years to come.....essentially screwing over the most gullible and secondly to those ''forced'' against their will to vaccinate.

the effects of the covid vaccine debacle has eroded not only the remnants of trust in the media it has deeply undermined the health care system, trust in doctors and trust in government itself.

do a twitter search for edward dowd a retired wall streeter now in the nose cone of vaccine death and injury and get up to speed.

the west including the indispensible shining city on the hill is done, stick a fork in it and call this turkey fully cooked.

Hell of a situation where you can't trust any of our western institutions but you can't and never could. Now you don't even have to be a cynic anymore, just curious enough to do a little work. Nullius in Verba Magisteri!

Similar to 'Historians' being the only ones allowed to 'interpret' and write History! Couple of notes from Oz - an event happens overseas and we see it near real-time, then in 2-3 days time it is 'reported' on MSM as if it just happened, with the agreed upon 'spin' attached. This delay is the decision cycle time to assess the subject and decide upon how to spin it to their advantage. Also ,as we are a day ahead of the Northern Hemisphere, Monday here is a dead 'news' day. MSM hasn't been given it's story for the week. Takes until at earliest Tuesday to see what that week's talking points are! So transparent. But, MSM is still powerful, as many simply tune in and accept what they are told. Not everyone has the time to stay glued to the web and trawl for news and facts, with manual work and family, having the radio or TV on in background still supplies the news. But, the MSM decline is there to see - we must be aware of the next 'play' to suck us in.

LOL. The MSM is an operational arm of the Deep State Western governments to pysop and brainwash you into serfdom, losing all your critical thinking skills and becoming an obedient slave of the STATE.

Who controls the narrative, controls the masses, ugh. Perhaps the same could be said for the water, the heritage seeds (women’s ovaries)…. Ongoing. Thank God, I still retain the ability to discern. I absolutely adored growing up in the era of the rotary dial up…“telephone, party line”. We could play tricks on the people who shared our phone line. The virtue of wholesome…fun. Relative. 🧡🔥🧡

Trump had/has numerous flaws as we all do but the worst of them was the occasional speaking of truth and probably the worst thing he ever stated publicly was that "the media is the enemy of the people!" which, of course was and is factual. Like the churches and the schools it's a BIG part of the indoctrination industrial complexes and always was. COVID has and continues to expose all the devices of the ruling classes to be incompetent at best and mendacious perfidious and venal at worst. The Emperor never had any clothes but your mind was so controlled your eyes couldn't see. Like the wizard of Oz, just a representation of the money power, the power only exists because the working classes are easily bamboozled and have been forever. The Ukraine war is another thing proving the mendacity, venality, perfidy and IMPOTENCE of the western ruling classes as the endless media lies and omissions and creations are shown up by anyone caring to look outside the media box. It's so easy for them to literally shut down your pre frontal cortex that you need to assume everything you see presented by the system is a nefarious lie until proven otherwise. Personally I'm just hoping that the money power doesn't blow up the world rather than accept the new multi polar world. I'm not confident any more.

Among the best moves of my life was tossing out the DirecTV just about 4 yrs ago now...why it took me 5 yrs after being Red Pilled I'll never know. Yet I'll always be grateful that I Awoke prior to Covid, RepoMadness, mRNA jabs, vax passports, CBDC's, and whatever other nightmares await. Very grateful for you thank you.

I stopped watching commercial TV in mid nineties. Same for newspapers. Same for Hollyweird products. Then the internet happened and the truth came to me from many directions.

Twenty five years later and the majority still absorb their daily doses of propaganda, and they pay for the "privilege" buying newspapers and magazines and subscriptions to streaming channels such as Netflix.

Then we have the dills that think because they read their news online it's somehow independent and they are so enlightened for doing so, even though the platforms are MSM owned.

Television, drug of the nation......

What about the Epoch Times? They have risen above the fray. I am a subscriber,.

You are lost to a controlled opposition outlet run by Falun Gong extremists, they are very good at wrapping their propaganda to look like actual reporting, brought to you by the US National Endowment for Democracy.

Expand full comment

Yes, I have noticed that and avoid them totally. Sheer propaganda.

Expand full comment

I am well aware of their bias when it comes to China. After all, the Falun Gong are persecuted there. However, that bias has no impact on their reporting in general, which I find to be well balanced. Furthermore, China and the CCP can never receive too much criticism. The main stream media is in bed with them. Can you name a better source of news?

Being aware of their bias, allows me to disregard it but yet accept the excellent ongoing reporting on the covid issue, hard to find unbiased reporting. I am also a subscriber. I don't avoid anything totally, within reason, I like to explore the spectrum...

Much of this article is excellent, but it is marred by the delusion of "radical leftists" which are in fact bourgeois liberal progressive post-modernists greatly supported by the US internationalist elites who benefit greatly from a discourse of "identity" conflict that removes the gaze from themselves. In the article you are setting up the same fake differentiation ("right" vs "left") when the real issue is the dominance of the US by a highly extractive capitalist elite (of which Trump is a part). That elite may be having somewhat of an internal civil war (international-oriented capital vs domestic-oriented capital) that is visible to the masses, but neither side gives a damn about the general US population.

What the US needs is an alternative to the Uniparty culture wars pantomime that keeps attention from the real political-economic issues that are destroying the living standards and freedoms of the general US population. You describe part of the problem excellently, but then go down the controlled opposition rabbit hole on the underlying dynamics.

Thanks. But don't get too hung up on the semantics, some 'tags and labels' used are just a quick short-hand, which is why I often use a variety of them interchangeably. I'm not even on the spectrum, both left and right are nearly equally lost in the USSA

Expand full comment

The problem is that semantic, in other words, meaning, matters. I agree that the problem is analysed well, but it is not as simple as MSM vs the rest....

LOL Could you in your next post tell me something I didn't already know? :-)

Speaking of "charismatic newscasters", I remember once the NBC early morning news show had TWO hot babes reading the news. But they stopped that after a while because it was too obvious they were using sex to sell the news. Not that I mind hot news babes, you understand. :-)

Thank you for your outstanding work. I look forward to the email in my inbox and to another article/paper from Simplicius the Thinker. When reading the news one normally needs to go no further than the headline, except when the headline is a ‘clickbait’, but even then a couple of lines in and the gist becomes apparent. I devour your articles, pausing often, reading a section out loud to my wife, and then continuing to absorb every morsel to the end.

"Why would anyone possibly turn to MSM, with their stilted, detached coverage, when there are citizen journalists like the above going on site—in ways the corporate ‘journalists’ refuse to do—and transmitting directly from the epicenter? There is no more a ‘direct’ connection that we as viewers can possibly get; why settle for a middle man?"

I'll tell you why. It was explained to me by my wife. She said getting news from TV is still the most convenient way for the majority of people like her, who simply do not have the time, the wisdom or the technical prowess to look for other sources of news on the internet and its social media platforms. She said she's glad she can at least turn on the telly for those 15-30 minutes of MSM news in the evening between her job and her role as a mother. And I kinda get her. That said, I try to "feed" her alternative viewpoints at times, with more or lesss success. :)
